Man who heckled Abdul El-Sayed is former Josh Hawley aide, records show

At the event on Saturday, an attendee who gave his name only as “Tommy” shouted from the crowd, asking whether El-Sayed would disavow the movement. El-Sayed answered: “Sure, yeah, absolutely,” then turned the question around, asking whether the man assumed he wouldn’t. Continue reading...
US gave us no warning of Russian strikes on Kyiv power plants, Zelenskyy says
Ukrainian president accuses Washington of ‘denial of reality’ in ongoing row with Trump over apparent support for Moscow Ukraine did not receive a warning from the US about an impending Russian missile attack on Sunday evening, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said, reviving concerns that Washington is withholding intelligence in order to bully Kyiv into capitulating to Moscow. Yuri Ihnat, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, said on television on Monday morning that Ukraine had not received a warning before a Russian missile barrage hit power plants in Kyiv at around 11pm. Earlier, a Ukrainian government official had told the Guardian the US had not warned the capital about the impending missile strike. Continue reading...
Triplet of ‘Ghostly’ Galaxies Hints at What Dark Matter Is — and Isn’t
About 65 million light-years from Earth, three galaxies don’t look quite right. They aren’t whirlpools bursting with light, but pallid objects dimly illuminated by a smattering of stars. They have this ghostly appearance, said Michael Keim, an astrophysicist at Yale University. And this isn’t even the weirdest thing about them. Dark matter is the invisible glue that keeps the largest… Source
AI Proved the Quasi-Riemann Hypothesis. What Happens Now?
Among the 377 results that OpenAI announced on October 6, 2026, one stood out. It claimed to settle the quasi-Riemann hypothesis a weaker version of the Riemann hypothesis, which is arguably the biggest open question in math. The new proof is, as Jared Duker Lichtman of Stanford University put it, the most significant AI-for-math achievement so far, by quite a margin. Source
Israeli police detain 10 people in rare raid against West Bank settlers
Move comes after US photojournalist and group of European diplomats and Palestinians were assaulted in separate attacks Israeli police have detained 10 people in a rare raid against settlers, after a weekend of extreme violence in the occupied West Bank including an attack on US photojournalist Heidi Levine, which she described as an “attempted lynching”. She was knocked down, kicked and beaten by a group of masked Israeli men as she covered the olive harvest in a Palestinian village on Friday. The militants broke four vertebrae and a rip, ripped open her finger so it required surgery and left her with lacerations across her body. Continue reading...

This helps us to reduce noise in communities near airports. Major modifications were completed in 2019 to improve the flow and lower the background noise of the tunnel. A new 5-sensor traversing microphone rake helps measure sound produced by scale experimental propulsors. Read more about the capabilities of the 9 x 15 LSWT on our facilities page. This software helps engineers to design and analyze new and improved aircraft propulsion systems. Copies of our software can be requested from NASA’s Software Catalog. Aerodynamic predictions of a the hot exhaust flow through a dual stream nozzle with chevrons. NASA JeNo Development of jet noise prediction codes is multifaceted. Since JeNo predicts jet noise using Lilley’s Acoustic Analogy and the mean flow solutions from a Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) code, accurate acoustic predictions hinge on accurate aerodynamic predictions. This is why acoustic source modeling and turbulence modeling, together with the development of advanced measurement systems, are the leading areas of research in jet noise prediction at NASA Glenn. RANS-based jet noise prediction schemes based on Lilley’s Acoustic Analogy offer relatively quick answers compared to those from alternative methods like Large-Eddy Simulations (LES) or Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS).
